Creepy dolls try to be cute in the first trailer for Trolls
You know those terrifying little troll dolls with the neon hair that sticks straight up? Haven’t you always wanted to see a bunch of them talking, singing, and doing the Whip/Nae Nae? No? That sounds like your worst nightmare? Too bad, because the first official trailer for DreamWorks’ Trolls—a film about the origins of the Dam Things that has been in the works for over five years—features just that. From the makers of Shrek comes a new animated comedy that is supposedly cute but easily nightmare-inducing. These trolls don’t hide in boxes, but are loud, sparkly little things that don’t seem to keep a very low profile despite the fact that they’re apparently delicious to Bergens, large creatures whose purple feet make a brief appearance in the trailer.
The musical comedy features the voices of Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, Russell Brand, James Corden, Kunal Nayyar, Ron Funches, Icona Pop, and Gwen Stefani. Apparently, the film will also explain the origins of the trolls’ colorful hair. It’s set to release in November 2016.
