Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young hate Trump even more than they hate each other

In a periodic reminder of the healing power of spite, Graham Nash—of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young—has said that the various members of the folk rock supergroup might hate Donald Trump even more than they hate each other, a shared enmity that could form the basis for another of the group’s sporadic reunions. Of course, he said all that while noting that neither he, nor Neil Young, are talking to David Crosby at the moment, so don’t necessarily hold your breath.

“Here’s how I feel about it,” Nash said in a recent interview. “I believe that the issues that are keeping us apart pale in comparison to the good that we can do if we get out there and start talking about what’s happening. So I’d be totally up for it even though I’m not talking to David and neither is Neil. But I think that we’re smart people in the end and I think we realize the good that we can do.”

If there’s one thing that could bring the group back together, it’s politics; all four members of the group are vocal liberals, and their last released collaboration was a ballad about Chelsea (then known as Bradley) Manning after her imprisonment for releasing classified documents about the U.S.’s spying programs. And while the group’s most recent kiss-offs to each other seemed pretty definitive—with Nash recently telling a Dutch magazine that Crosby “has just been fucking awful”—if there’s one thing that could get these four guys back on stage together, it’s the beautiful, transformative power of hate.
