Listening to Tommy James And The Shondells’ “Crystal Blue Persuasion,” it’s not hard to be reminded of AMC’s Breaking Bad (it was actually used in season five’s “Gliding All Over.”) A considerably more difficult task would be to manufacture a supercut video of “Persuasion” being performed by Breaking Bad characters. Never fear; VFX artist Glenn O Neill was up to the task, amassing clips from across the series’ entire run. So while Tommy James may claim that “Persuasion” is inspired by the book of revelations, the song can also be appreciated as an prescient ode to Heisenberg’s ultra-pure “Blue Sky” methamphetamine. Can ELO’s “Mr. Blue Sky” be far behind?
