D.J. Caruso signs on to direct that Groundhog Day-esque sci-fi project Will Smith might star in

Selling Time—that Groundhog Day-esque sci-fi movie that, like its protagonist, keeps popping up again and again and again—is back in the trades. Despite showing “interest” in the project since around 2001, Will Smith still isn’t officially attached to star as a man who sells off chunks of his life, all so that he can relive and hopefully fix his worst day. However, he appears to remain unofficially, maybe attached in a vague sort of way in new reports saying that D.J. Caruso has signed on to direct the eternally in-flux project. The Disturbia and Eagle Eye filmmaker will now oversee a new draft by its original screenwriter Dan McDermott, which they're hoping will finally reel in Will Smith before we all relive this story again.
