Since this Sunday is Father’s Day, we decided to put a positive spin on this depressing TV tradition: the deadbeat dad who made good. Sometimes they have perfectly good reasons for abandoning their families (secret identities, witness-protection programs). Sometimes they have an actual lasting change of heart. Most times, their TV offspring find a way to forgive these flaky patriarchs, even after years of inattention. So for this upcoming Hallmark holiday, we celebrate the TV dads who finally redeemed themselves after years of broken promises.
