Daisy Ridley joins James Corden in Peter Rabbit hybrid film

Daisy Ridley missed out on a prime opportunity to act opposite a trouble-seeking, long-eared, non-human CGI character when she joined the Star Wars universe in the post-Jar Jar years. Undaunted though, she’s attempting to rectify that by joining the cast of Sony’s upcoming adaptation of Beatrix Potter’s children’s classic, Peter Rabbit, Variety reports. The actress will lend her vocal cords to an undisclosed animated character, alongside The Late Late Show host James Corden, who will voice the eponymous underaged lagomorph, and Elizabeth Debicki (The Night Manager). Rose Byrne will perform in a corporeal role as Bea in the partially-animated, partially live-action film.

Ridley has managed to stay busy since being shot out of the fame cannon via last year’s The Force Awakens. In addition to starring in the eighth Star Wars installment due out in 2017, she’s got four films scheduled for 2018, including Claire McCarthy’s Hamlet reimagining, Ophelia, in which she plays the lead, and Doug Liman and Charlie Kaufman’s take on the YA dystopia genre, Chaos Walking.
