Damn, Lori Loughlin's been completely edited out of When Calls The Heart's sixth season
When Calls The Heart, the Hallmark Channel soap you only heard of because its star got charged with mail fraud in a massive college admissions scam, has announced a return date. On May 5, the frontier drama will again grace your TVs, this time with not a trace of Lori Loughlin’s Abigail, who we’re guessing died on the way to her home planet.
Entertainment Weekly’s sources confirm that the remaining episodes of the show’s sixth season, which was pulled last month after the network said it would no longer work with Loughlin, have been “re-edited in such a manner that removes any appearances by Loughlin.” The report calls the editing “highly creative,” which makes sense considering her character is not only a lead, but also the town’s mayor. Reshoots are described as “minor,” which is impressive considering how deeply embedded the character is in the show’s idyllic Hope Falls hamlet.
Hallmark Channel called on When Calls The Heart star Erin Krakow to deliver the news of the show’s return, and you can see the shadows flickering behind her eyes as she tells us, no, really, everything’s actually fine. Did you hear there’s a “new mountie” in town?
Loughlin, meanwhile, was arraigned in federal court in Boston last week with her husband, fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli, both of whom are accused of paying $500,000 to get their daughters into the University Of Southern California. On Tuesday, the pair was hit with an additional charge of conspiracy to commit money laundering, which brings with it the possibility of actual prison time. That’s apparently a shock to Loughlin, as Entertainment Tonight quotes a source who say she “believed in the end she would just get a slap on the wrist.” Not with this new mountie in charge, she won’t.
When Calls The Heart aired three episodes of its sixth season before it was yanked, and will air back-to-back episodes on May 5 and 6 before ripping away Game Of Thrones viewers with its weekly Sunday slot.
