Dan Harmon gloriously live tweets the Community porn parody
Dan Harmon, the eccentric writer and producer currently keeping busy with Adult Swim’s Rick And Morty, took to Twitter over the weekend to live tweet his reactions to a porn parody based on one of his previous creations. Way back in 2012, the fine people at Hustler produced a spoof of Harmon’s Community creatively titled This Ain’t Community XXX, then seemingly abandoned it when they realized the show wasn’t famous enough to warrant such a tribute. But scenes from This Ain’t Community surfaced on Reddit in 2013, and now the entire production may be easily located on Hustler’s dedicated porn parody site. (Caution: That last link is definitely not safe for work.) Apparently, Simon Oré, a creative consultant and producer at Starburns Industries, was generous enough to provide a DVD of This Ain’t Community XXX to a grateful Dan Harmon, who acknowledged that “the Community porn would definitely be too weird to follow The Office porn.” At first, Harmon was most impressed by the fact that the cast of the porn parody included an honest-to-goodness legend of the adult film industry.
Then he got into more specific plot points.
As the film progressed, Harmon became increasingly concerned about its racial politics.
And its gender politics, too.
Ultimately, although the experience was so weirdly meta that even Abed might have found it disorienting, Harmon ultimately seemed flattered that This Ain’t Community XXX even exists. “I feel very complete now,” he told his followers. “Not in that way.” The Community creator’s pride was obvious when he tweeted a picture of the cast of the forlorn yet heartfelt parody.
