Danai Gurira will return to guard Black Panther in Avengers: Infinity War
The first Black Panther trailer dialed up the mystery of the fictional Wakanda while also showing off just how badass the Dora Milaje is, including Danai Gurira’s Okoye, a member of the royal guard who is seen alongside King T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman). The preview did an excellent job of priming us for the release of the MCU film, which unfortunately is still about eight months away. Although we can’t make that time go by any faster, we can tell you that we’ll be seeing plenty of Okoye next year, as Deadline reports that Gurira is set to appear in Avengers: Infinity War. There’s currently no word on just how extensive her role will be in the movie, but it’s a safe bet that she’ll be watching Black Panther’s back. The third Avengers film, which is being helmed by the Russo brothers, is due out May 4, 2018. In the meantime, you can catch Gurira in the Tupac biopic, All Eyez On Me, which hits theaters Friday, as well as The Walking Dead, when it eventually shuffles back to AMC for season eight.
