From late last week: Mad genius D'Angelo was fined and received suspended jail sentences for a single vehicle accident in 2005. D'Angelo, driving drunk, was thrown for his Hummer after he crashed the car. The case against D'Angelo was weakened when the person riding with him at the time—considered by the D.A. to be a star witness—didn't show up in court for trial on Friday. D'Angelo's most recent album is 2000's Voodoo, though he does appear on the new Common album Finding Forever.
