Daniel Radcliffe, Anne Hathaway, and Keanu Reeves head to The Modern Ocean

Deadline reports that Daniel Radcliffe, Anne Hathaway, and Keanu Reeves have just been added to the all-star cast of the upcoming film, The Modern Ocean. They join Jeff Goldblum, Chloë Grace Moretz, Spider-Man-elect Tom Holland, Asa Butterfield (Ender’s Game), and Abraham Attah (Beasts Of No Nation). Stars have long been used for marine navigation, which could be why this cast is just loaded with them. But since they’re not the most accurate tool, Radcliffe might want to pack his Broom Compass. Shane Carruth (Upstream Color) will take his usual hands-on approach—he’ll direct, produce, and star in the film.

Described as a “nautical action adventure,” The Modern Ocean will see a competition for the most valuable shipping routes. If that doesn’t sound sufficiently high-octane for you, there will also be a “search for the hidden cache of priceless material, and the powerful need for vengeance will converge in a spectacular battle on the rolling decks of behemoth cargo ships.” The epic tale, which will be “fraught with danger and intrigue,” will travel from ancient trading houses in Algeria to plumb the depths of the ocean. (Hey, they have to find something for all of these actors to do.)
