In a move that seems to underscore the dark tone hinted at in last week’s ominous teaser trailer, Nine Inch Nails frontman/social network enthusiast Trent Reznor has announced via the NIN news feed that he will be providing the soundtrack for David Fincher’s Aaron Sorkin-scripted Facebook movie, The Social Network. Working with longtime NIN producer Atticus Ross, Reznor is “happy to tell you we're nearing the completion of this and I couldn't be happier with how it's turned out,” adding, “Speaking of the film… it's really fucking good. And dark!” (Reznor conveniently neglected to add, “You know, for a film about Farmville and poking.”)
