After implying and then denying that "Foo Fighters are breaking up" news last month, Dave Grohl has decided to use at least some of that band's hiatus to rejoin Queens Of The Stone Age. Now that Foo Fighters aren't recording or playing shows for a while, Grohl will bang the drums for Queens on its new album, a reunion confirmed in an interview with Queens frontman Josh Homme by BBC1's Zane Lowe. Additionally, the band posted a photo on their Facebook page showing Grohl's name listed above the drum track.
Grohl previously sat in with the band on its critically acclaimed 2002 album, Songs For The Deaf. Since then, Grohl and Homme have also worked together as Them Crooked Vultures, a supergroup featuring Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones.
The Queens' forthcoming sixth studio album and follow-up to 2007's Era Vulgaris is set for release sometime in 2013.
