Dave Grohl’s newest supergroup, Teenage Time Killer, to release debut album

In a blatant attempt to break the non-existent record for having the largest number of side projects in the history of rock, head Foo Fighter Dave Grohl has announced that his latest extracurricular project, Teenage Time Killer, will release its debut album on Rise Records in 2015. The band, which also includes Queens of the Stone Age bassist Nick Oliveri, Slipknot/Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor, Black Flag’s Keith Morris, Corrosion of Conformity members Reed Mullin and Mike Dean, Jello Biafra, and Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe, recorded the project at Grohl’s Studio 606. Other participants include SUNN O))) and members of Soulfly, The Misfits, Goatsnake, Red Fang, Brujeria, and Articles of Faith among many others, making this metal-stoner-punk-drone-hardcore-nü-metal supergroup the best thing to happen to the comma and the hyphen key in quite some time.

Grohl is no stranger to supergroups, having played in the Backbeat Band with Greg Dulli, Don Fleming, Mike Mills, and Thurston Moore in the early ’90s.He was also the drummer for Mike Watt’s 1995 “Ringspiel tour” alongside Watt, Eddie Vedder, William Goldsmith, and Pat Smear, and, most recently, formed Them Crooked Vultures with Josh Homme of Queens of the Stone Age and Led Zeppelin bass player John Paul Jones. Dallying in metal bands is not new to Grohl, either, as he formed Probot with his favorite metal singers, including Lemmy, King Diamond, and members from Venom, Sepultura, and Voivod, releasing an album in 2004. Expect more Grohl-flavored supergroups in the near future, unless Grohl remembers to get his ADHD prescription refilled in the New Year.
