David Bowie and Tilda Swinton together at last in David Bowie's very David Bowie-ish new video

He’s been famous for about 40 years, but David Bowie’s still not comfortable with the general public’s interest in his private life. At least, that’s one interpretation of his latest video, “The Stars (Are Out Tonight).” Another might be that David Bowie is aware people think he and Tilda Swinton look alike, and he decided he may as well have some fun with it.

In the Floria Sigismondi-directed short for the new single, Bowie and Swinton play a couple stalked by whacked-out young Hollywood ingénue types. They're assaulted in their sleep, followed by old limousines, and eventually converted into total creepers themselves. Along the way there's plenty of androgyny and unsettling atmosphere—all par for the course in a Bowie video.

Bowie’s latest LP, The Next Day, is due out March 12.
