Because directing is easy—all you need is a silly old director’s hat, and some fancy sissy clothes out of your sister’s drawer, and you get up on the set and you go nuts—David Cross has already finished his directorial debut. Deadline reports that Cross recently completed filming on Hits, described as a dark comedy about “the nature of fame in the YouTube era.” So, “It’s rewarding!” an actor probably says, and then there’s 90 minutes of credits—just long enough to include Amy Sedaris, Wyatt Cenac, Julia Stiles, Matt Walsh, Dave Koechner, Erinn Hayes, James Adomian, Derek Waters, Jason Ritter, Cross’ father-in-law Russ Tamblyn, and all the other people he got to be in his very first movie because he’s David Cross.
