David Fincher may direct the Gone Girl movie

Hoping to concentrate only on popular books with “girl” in the title now, David Fincher has reportedly set his sights on Gillian Flynn’s Gone Girl, the best-seller that thrilled millions with its not being Fifty Shades Of Grey, so yeah, that is a way better thing to read on the bus, lady. Reese Witherspoon is confirmed to produce the adaptation of Flynn’s own screenplay, which tells the story of a woman’s disappearance and the many twisty secrets it reveals about her marriage, though Fincher’s participation is still just in the early stages of negotiation. Meanwhile, when he’s not being rumored for Star Wars or ignoring the fact that he still has to make two more Girl With The Dragon Tattoo movies, apparently, Fincher is waiting to see whether Disney wants to go ahead with its 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea update. “Can we call it Look Out For That Squid, Girl?” fake David Fincher says in our fake David Fincher skit, loosely based on how he might have several “Girl” movies someday.
