David Lynch and Harry Dean Stanton reunite for quirky small-town drama

According to Variety, frequent collaborators David Lynch and Harry Dean Stanton will be reuniting for Lucky, the directorial debut of actor John Carroll Lynch (The Americans, American Horror Story). Stanton will star in the film as a 90-year-old atheist who goes on a “spiritual journey” of some sort. Along the way, he’ll encounter the various “quirky characters that inhabit his off-the-map desert town” and eventually arrive “at the precipice of life, thrust into a journey of self-exploration.” David Lynch will presumably be playing one of those quirky characters, and he’ll be joined by Ed Begley Jr., Ron Livingston, Tom Skerritt, Barry Shabaka Henley, Beth Grant, Yvonne Huff Lee, Hugo Armstrong, and James Darren.

In a statement, Lynch said that he “couldn’t pass up the opportunity to work with Harry Dean Stanton,” adding that Lucky is all about “coming to terms with the fragility of life and, if we are lucky, experiencing the precious vitality of the only we all share: this moment.”
