David Mamet to Always Be Condemning with Fox series about the seven deadly sins
Not wanting to be left out on TV’s current zeal for all things biblical and judgmental, Fox has drafted David Mamet to develop a seven-hour limited series—each hour of which will be devoted to one of the seven deadly sins. Mamet will write and direct at least the first of those segments that will cover all of Christianity’s biggest transgressions, such as Wrath, Pride, Envy, Drinking Coffee When You’re Not A Closer, etc. And he’s expected to write at least two more beyond that, with each of the sins forming “a backdrop of a series of interconnected stories that reflect on the human condition.” Though really, couldn’t you say that about a lot of Fox’s series? What is Dads but a hellish, living tableau of lust and sloth, for example?
