Deadpool 2 (2018)
Release date: January 12, 2018
The story: While there isn’t much information about this sequel, Fox has confirmed its release date and the reunion of the first Deadpool’s writers, director, and star. The post-credits scene of Deadpool announces that Nathan “Cable” Summers will be appearing, and there are rumors that another comic book ally, Domino, will join them. All of these characters are associated with the X-Force team in the comics, and given the blockbuster success of Deadpool, it makes sense for Fox to use this franchise to set up its long-in-development X-Force spin-off. Wade got a showcase in a clip that appeared in front of Logan, showing that he’s still trying (and failing) to help people, and that Cable is apparently “cumming soon.”
Who appears:
Deadpool/Wade Wilson
Cable
Colossus/Peter Rasputin
Negasonic Teenage Warhead
Noteworthy events: Deadpool bounced back from a terribly misguided first appearance to headline a global hit solo film that is getting a fast-tracked sequel. That’s very noteworthy.
