Death is meaningless to superheroes, so Elektra will return for The Defenders
According to Empire, Elodie Yung will be appearing on Netflix’s superhero team-up show The Defenders next year, reprising her role as the assassin Elektra. That means her death in season two of Daredevil wasn’t as permanent as the show may have led you to believe, but considering that her resurrection was already teased a little bit and that the comic book version of Elektra also famously died and came back to life, another appearance from Yung is hardly a surprise.
The real question is whose side she’ll be on when Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron First finally join forces to take on The Hand—the evil ninja cult responsible for both killing and reviving Elektra. She was already sort of destined to be some kind of human super-weapon for The Hand, so she might not totally be herself when she comes back. Either way, she’ll now be joining the other Defenders’ friends in the team-up show, including Rosario Dawson’s Claire Temple, Rachael Taylor’s Trish “It’s Patsy!” Walker, and Simone Missick’s Misty Knight. Sigourney Weaver will also be there as some kind of villain, but that’s all we know about her.
