Death Stranding's first gameplay footage somehow makes the game seem even weirder
We’ve spent years trying to figure out what Death Stranding is, beyond it being the new game from Metal Gear creator Hideo Kojima and his new Kojima Productions studio, but Sony’s bizarre E3 press conference/performance art presentation finally gave us our best look yet. As it turns out, Death Stranding is a game where you play as a deliveryman, carrying enormous backpacks across vast, empty fields while hiding from rain that makes you old and invisible monsters that suck you into black puddles of goo. Oh, does that not help at all? It still sounds super fucking weird? Well, Death Stranding is apparently super fucking weird.
What we did understand is that this new trailer added a few more famous names to Death Stranding’s cast, with Léa Seydoux and Lindsay Wagner joining Norman Reedus (the aforementioned deliveryman) and Mads Mikkelsen. Seydoux eats a bug and wears a cool jacket, but that’s really all we can tell you about either of the new additions.
Luckily, Death Stranding still doesn’t have a release date, so hopefully we can get something even more ridiculous next E3.
