Deerhunter's Bradford Cox offers new Atlas Sound collection for free

Certainly no stranger to just giving away his music, Deerhunter frontman Bradford Cox has just posted a whole new Atlas Sound collection on his blog, which you can download right now for free. Bedroom Databank Vol. 1 comprises songs Cox recorded between August and November, including covers of Bob Dylan And The Band’s “This Wheel’s On Fire” and Kurt Vile’s “Freak Train,” all slathered in his usual trippy, dreamy layers of reverb and lo-fi hiss. It also features “maracas and other vocals” from the mysterious “W.A.B. II,” whom Pitchfork discovered is actually Cox’s roommate’s cat, named Weekend At Bernie’s II. That cat’s voodoo subplot was really unbelievable.
