Defenders stars Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter crash Mike Colter’s interview

So far Marvel’s Defenders stars Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter, and Mike Colter have given the Avengers a run for their money in terms of individual charisma (we haven’t seen Iron Fist’s Finn Jones in action yet). But the one area in which the Avengers have a clear leg up is cast chemistry. While Chris Evans, Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Hemsworth have had plenty of adorable interactions on talk shows and red carpets, the Defenders actors haven’t really had a chance to publicly interact with each other very much. But they made up for lost time in a big way by crashing Mike Colter’s recent Facebook Live interview.

Wearing a [Netflix and] “chill” shirt, the Luke Cage star began by answering fan questions from his front yard. But the somewhat inane interview was spiced up by appearances from his future Defenders co-stars.

First up, Jessica Jones star Krysten Ritter calls in at the 5:12 mark to give Colter shit for ignoring her in-character messages on Facebook. Colter is adorably concerned that Ritter might be driving while she Facetimes. She, meanwhile, proceeds to tease him about wearing Netflix branding during the interview. Ritter also reveals she’s on episode 10 of Luke Cage and has already cried three times. Colter is more than relieved to switch the interview from himself to Ritter, and the two seem like genuine friends (as her recent Instagrams have proven).

The next call comes from upcoming Iron Fist star Finn Jones at 10:57. He’s actually phoning in from the set of the Iron Fist season finale. And although their characters Luke and Danny Rand are best friends in the comics, it turns out this is actually the first time Colter and Jones have officially met. “This is super amazing and super weird,” Jones explains of their introduction via Facetime. Jones reveals he’s only on episode three of Luke Cage, which is pretty understandable given his own shooting schedule. (He’s apparently only going to get a three-week break between filming Iron Fist and The Defenders.)

And, finally, Charlie Cox joins the conversation at 18:50. It turns out Cox also has a good reason for not finishing the series yet—he’s got a brand-new baby at home. But the Daredevil star does have time to make fun of Ritter and Rand’s oddly framed Facetimes. He also reveals he’s a huge fan of Luke’s yellow-lined hoodie and proves all around charming even during the interview’s more awkward moments.

There’s also an appearance at 13:40 from Marvel TV head honcho Jeph Loeb, who reveals he’s currently bouncing back and forth between the sets of Iron Fist and The Punisher. And while the whole thing doesn’t quite rival the Avengers playing Family Feud on Jimmy Kimmel, it’s not a bad place for the Defenders to start, either.
