Del Toro, others push for better indie-film exposure in Mexico
While Mexican directors Guillermo del Toro (Pan's Labrynth), Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu (Babel), and
Alfonso Cuaron (Children Of Men) rack up accolades abroad for their work, they say there's not enough opportunity or exposure for independent filmmakers within Mexico, and are using their growing prestige to press for improvements, Reuters reports. It's not clear who nicknamed the trio the "Three Amigos" (yes, already) but one must suspect it wasn't a Mexican filmmaker.
