Demetri Martin is joining the cast of House Of Lies
Demetri Martin’s stand-up has always had a mischievously nasty streak undercutting his floppy Beatles haircut and nice guy delivery—a willingness to take a joke just a little darker than his wide, friendly-looking eyes suggest he would. That tendency should serve him well among the spin-loving sociopaths on Showtime’s House Of Lies, which has added Martin to the cast in a recurring guest role for the show’s upcoming fourth season. The comic will play Ellis Hightower, a CEO and inventor working with unscrupulous management consultant Marty Kaan (Don Cheadle) and his crew of backstabbing associates.
It’ll be Martin’s first regular TV gig since Comedy Central’s Important Things With Demetri Martin went off the air in 2010. In the meantime, Martin’s been focused on his stand-up, touring and releasing an album in 2012. He’s also had a few small film roles and drawn a lot of very silly pictures.
