Depeche Mode announces new Violator-like album, tour

After leaving EMI, Depeche Mode has signed a worldwide deal with Columbia Records to release its 13th studio album—and follow-up to 2009's Sounds Of The Universe—in March. The English electronic trio comprised of Martin Gore, Dave Gahan, and Andy ‘Fletch’ Fletcher are set to embark on a mostly European tour to support the record, playing 34 shows in 25 countries beginning May 7 in Tel Aviv and ending July 29 in Minsk, Belarus.

Even though the album is still untitled, Gore dropped some welcome hints in a press release about the forthcoming release saying, “The music has a similar vibe to Violator and Songs Of Faith And Devotion and I think the songs on the album are among some of the very best we’ve done.”

More details about the album as well as a full North American tour will be announced in the coming weeks.
