Desaparecidos cancel rest of tour following Conor Oberst’s hospitalization

Those of you still waiting to see Desaparecidos perform live in support of their solid new album Payola will unfortunately have to wait a little longer. The band has just announced they’re canceling the remainder of their current tour, after singer Conor Oberst was reportedly hospitalized while on the road in Jacksonville, Florida due to a combination of laryngitis, anxiety, and exhaustion. A statement from label Epitaph says, “In consultation with his doctors, the band has reluctantly agreed to cancel all scheduled live dates. Conor will be heading home to Omaha to recuperate.” No word on the source of the illness, but we suspect “The Man” is behind this. The affected remaining dates are listed below, with refunds available from point of purchase.
