“Despacito” is now YouTube’s most played video ever

Introducing Endless Mode: A New Games & Anime Site from Paste
After less than a month on the YouTube throne, Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” has been ousted from its spot as the service’s most played video ever, losing out to Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito.” Mixing a traditional romantic ballad, percussive hip-hop, and a former Miss Universe who’s apparently being followed around by her own personal slow-motion effect, the video also became the first YouTube video to surpass 3 billion views. (Fun fact: Given that “Despacito” is 4:41 long, that means its total play time by the human race equals roughly 26,630 years of very smooth jams.)
