Dez Cadena has quit the Misfits. He’d been touring with the group since its 2001 25th anniversary tour, making him the band’s longest-tenured guitarist. Punk News reports that Cadena has been replaced by bassist Jerry Only’s son.
On June 19, the former Black Flag member posted on his Facebook page that he’s “not with the Misfits anymore,” obtusely including a picture of an old-timey baseball catcher and saying “this is what I do for a living now,” whatever that means.
Earlier this spring, Cadena had a malignant tumor removed from his larynx, leaving him (at least briefly) unable to sing, though he could still speak.
