Fox is developing a new smart, sassy teen girl drama with Diablo Cody and Gossip Girl producers Stephanie Savage and Josh Schwartz. Prodigy was written by Cody, and follows a 16-year-old homeschooled genius who decides to integrate into “normal” life by attending high school. She falls in with a rowdy crowd, and starts spending more time worrying about boys and crime than about school. So, it’s like Mean Girls, but with actual criminals instead of just really nasty people. This is Savage and Schwartz's second teen drama with Fox—the first being The O.C., which launched on the network a decade ago.
