Diablo Cody's Juno follow-up to premiere in Toronto after dark

Returning to the site where she launched a little movie called Juno to some acclaim and success, writer Diablo Cody (working with Girlfight and Aeon Flux director Karyn Kusama) is premiering her follow-up, the horror-comedy Jennifer’s Body, as the opening night film in the Midnight Madness section of the Toronto Film Festival. Given the animus directed at Cody specifically in the time between movies—on her Twitter feed, she noted that “Some guy in Idaho tweeted that I’ve ruined cinema. Already? Had no idea I was so hugely influential. Suck it, Truffaut!”—it’s a canny move to unveil the film in the friendly confines of Ryerson Hall, where the feral Midnight Madness audience is responsive to just about any piece of schlock they encounter. As for the plot, it concerns the murderous exploits of a cheerleader (Megan Fox) who gets possessed and starts feeding on the boys that lust after her.
