Diane’s down but not out in the first trailer for The Good Fight

When Diane Lockhart (Christine Baranski) parted ways with the Florricks in the conclusion of The Good Wife, the uber-chic lawyer appeared poised to extricate herself from the legal game entirely. But, as we see in this first trailer for The Good Fight, Diane’s pulled back in just as she’s trying to get out. The spin-off picks up one year after the end of The Good Wife, with Diane about to enter retirement. A Ponzi scheme destroys that prospect, though, as well as the reputation of the goddaughter (Rose Leslie) Diane had taken under her wing. The disgraced attorneys then have to team up with former adversaries (played by Cush Jumbo and Delroy Lindo) at one of Chicago’s other preeminent law firms. This is all enough to make the otherwise immaculate Diane drop an f-bomb, which will only be heard in its profane entirety on CBS All Access.

The Good Fight will live on the network’s streaming site, but will have a broadcast premiere on February 19.
