Dick Wolf’s Cold Justice is getting a spinoff about sex crimes
In news that sounds vaguely familiar, almost as if it has happened before in a slightly different way, Dick Wolf’s Cold Justice is getting a spinoff that’s all about sexually based offenses—which are considered especially heinous in the criminal justice system. Like vanilla Cold Justice, the yet-untitled spinoff will follow a pair of female investigators who travel around the country trying to figure out unsolved criminal cases, only this time they’ll all be sex-related. The dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies—former Texas prosecutors Case Garrett and Alicia O’Neill—are members of an elite squad known as the Yet-Untitled Cold Justice spinoff unit. The show will depict their stories.
Beyond that, we don’t know much about the show. The most surprising thing about all of this, though, is that apparently Cold Justice—which airs on TNT in between constant reruns of some other Dick Wolf show that’s also about a unit of detectives who handle crimes that deal with special victims—is popular enough to warrant a spinoff. Next, Wolf will make a Cold Justice spinoff that’s about Vincent D’Onofrio.
