Director Carly Ann Stone on The New Romantic and making a movie about sugar babies

Carly Ann Stone’s directorial debut The New Romantic follows a young journalism student who, frustrated with her post-graduation prospects, becomes a sugar baby to a wealthy older man and documents her experience in hopes to win a journalism competition. At the premiere of the film, we spoke with Stone, Jessica Barden, Hayley Law, and Brett Dier about The New Romantic and making a movie about sugar babies.
