After serving as screenwriter and producer on 30 Rock, New Girl, and the Pitch Perfect films, Kay Cannon makes her directorial debut this Friday with Blockers, and early reviews are positive. The film follows in the footsteps of teen sex comedies like American Pie and a kind of Superbad as told from the girls’ perspectives. Blockers centers on a sex pact made by three teenage girls, and their parents who find out about the pact and attempt to put a stop to it. At the SXSW premiere of the film, we spoke with Cannon, Leslie Mann, Geraldine Viswanathan, and Gideon Adlon.
