The Discovery Channel has announced the latest in the burgeoning genre of TV shows based on Internet phenomena with curse words in the title, as the network is adapting Facebook favorite I Fucking Love Science for television and online video. IFLS creator Elise Andrew will host the show, first as a series of videos on the network's TestTube online portal.
In order to protect our fragile, fragile children, Discovery will obscure one or more of the letters in "fucking," rather than adopting an alternate title, like, say, Science Is Awesome, Andrew's kid-friendly version of her Facebook page.
I Fucking Love Science will join Discovery's already-educational slate of programs, which includes such science-related fare as Cash Cab, Auction Kings, and Amish Mafia.
