Disney smuggles in some details on the young Han Solo movie

Oh, those irascible Disney executives. So cheeky. So coy. So unwilling to share any details on what’s up with any of their upcoming Star Wars movies. Bunch of scruffy-looking nerf herders, the lot of them. Disney CEO Bob Iger seems to think he’s a regular Han Solo, perpetually staying one step ahead of the nerds in Boba Fett outfits clamoring for the smallest scrap of information about Lucasfilm’s upcoming “young Han Solo” prequel.

Iger decided to take pity on all the mouth-breathers at a tech conference at USC earlier today, however, actually providing a few concrete piece of information about what to expect from the upcoming Phil Lord and Chris Miller-directed film. First, Iger said the movie will follow Han’s life from the ages of 18 to 24, and will include adventures like “acquiring a certain vehicle and meeting a certain Wookie.” (What a rascal.) “You’ll also discover how he got his name,” Iger added, presumably not referring to George Lucas dropping the “k” from “Hank” and calling it a day.

The as-yet-untitled Star Wars Han Solo spinoff movie is due out on May 25, 2018.
