A.A. Dowd and Ignatiy Vishnevetsky are split on Steve Jobs, the Danny Boyle-directed, Aaron Sorkin-penned biopic of the Apple icon that’s expanding into wide release this week. Returning again to Farmhouse Tavern, the A.V. Club’s film critics also find time discuss two visually sumptuous movies that opened in theaters recently: Guillermo Del Toro’s gothic romance Crimson Peak and Hou Hsiao-Hsien’s martial-arts period piece The Assassin.
