Doctor Who director to tackle Tolkien biopic

Someone other than Peter Jackson will make a film referencing the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. According to Deadline, James Strong is going to direct a biopic of the Lord Of The Rings author called Middle Earth. Strong is best known for his work in British television, hitting a ton of favorites. He’s directed episodes of Doctor Who, Downton Abbey, and Broadchurch. Written by Angus Fletcher, Middle Earth deals with Tolkien before he built his famous fantasy world. It follows his relationship with his wife Edith Bratt and involvement in World War I. Fletcher reportedly researched the author’s life intensely for six years. Now we just have to wait and see whether Benedict Cumberbatch or Tom Hiddleston will take on the role.
