Documentary Now! also postpones an episode in wake of Virginia killings

Mr. Robot isn’t the only show with an unfortunate combination of social relevance and bad timing: Variety reports that IFC’s Documentary Now! is rescheduling an episode that was supposed to air tonight in the wake of the shooting deaths of reporter Alison Parker and cameraman Adam Ward on live TV yesterday morning. The episode, “Dronez,” was a Vice parody that reportedly depicted journalists being killed on camera. “In light of yesterday’s tragic events, IFC decided to air ‘Kunuk’ as tonight’s episode of Documentary Now! in place of ‘Dronez,’” IFC says in a statement. “Our thoughts are with the victims.”

The episode, which had the support of Vice and was being promoted on its website, will air next week, September 3 at 8 p.m., instead.
