An altercation between Marty Crandall of The Shins and his former girlfriend (and former America's Next Top Model contestant) Elyse Sewell has resulted in dropped domestic-violence charges for both parties. The Sacramento, California, district attorney's office ruled Tuesday that there was insufficient evidence to pursue the charges stemming from an alleged altercation at a hotel during which Sewell claimed in a now-deleted post on her LiveJournal page that a drunken Crandall bruised her arms and bloodied her knuckles, and that she left bite marks on him as a result of their scuffle. Writing later on her LiveJournal blog, Sewell said it "was incredibly naive of me not to realize that my blog entry about this incident would become tabloid fodder … I will never speak of this again, nor malign Marty in this space."
