Don Johnson will star in that From Dusk Till Dawn TV show

As we previously reported, El Rey, Comcast's upcoming cable network run by Robert Rodriguez, is going into production on the network's flagship show, a TV adaptation of Rodriguez's 1996 vampire flick From Dusk Till Dawn. Like the film, the show concerns two criminal brothers, who find themselves in a vampire-infested strip club while on the run from the law. And now it's been announced that D.J. Cotrona (Detroit 1-8-7) and Zane Holtz will take on the roles originally held by George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino, respectively. But the big casting news is that Don Johnson has signed on to play Sheriff Earl McGraw—a minor character in the film, portrayed by Michael Parks, who has a larger role to play in the show's 10-episode first season. With this casting, Rodriguez is now one step closer to directing everyone who's ever been married to Melanie Griffith.
