Don Letts trains lens on SLF
Aversion.com has news of Don Letts' new project: A documentary on the legendary, long-running Irish punk band Stiff Little Fingers. Letts–an early cohort of The Clash who went on to play in Big Audio Dynamite with Mick Jones–is the man generally credited with turning the English punk scene onto reggae. Coincidentally, Stiff Little Fingers covered Bob Marley and was the band closest in sound and spirit to The Clash (at least early on). Letts previously directed Punk: Attitude, The Clash: Westway To The World, and the recent Franz Ferdinand tour film Rock It To Rio, among many others.
The SLF doc, titled Still Burning, will be released in September, and hopefully will have lots more of this:
