Donald Trump’s pissed about that Snoop Dogg diss
Donald Trump should have his mind on his money, since his money is on everyone else’s minds right now, but instead, he’s just working himself into a lather over Snoop Dogg’s “Lavender” remix. The rapper released the Badbadnotgood remix earlier this week, with a video that saw him pull a toy gun on a Trump clown. The gag proved to be so beyond the pale that it united Trump with his former enemy, Marco Rubio. Rubio bravely came forward yesterday to decry Snoop Dogg’s provocative imagery that consists of a flag with the word “Bang” on it. And it seems “Little Marco’s” concerns have reached the president’s ears, or maybe one of his aides just played that InfoWars video for him during lunch, because Trump is furious that more people aren’t outraged by the video.
Actually, that’s not even one of Trump’s more unhinged tweets—The Daily Show is currently compiling those—as it shifts the focus a bit from himself to former President Barack Obama. Then again, deflection is one of his administration’s hallmarks, and it does follow the Trump tradition of calling everyone but himself and Fox News failures. And of course, it was also posted at 8 a.m. ET, which is part of the other Trump Twitter tradition known as the “wake and hate.” But his venom probably won’t reach Snoop Dogg, who’s too busy posting Step Brothers homages and promoting SXSW performances with Lil Wayne to care.
Frankly, we’re a bit surprised that Trump would try to curb Snoop Dogg’s free speech, since he did once brag about being able to shoot someone in plain view of others without any consequences. Maybe Snoop was just testing that theory.
