Minneapolis rap collective Doomtree is good at throwing coups: It’s no easy feat to get crowds jumping up and down to songs that are basically anarchist manifestos, after all. Today, The A.V. Club is premiering “Spill Me Up,” a new Doomtree track that’s as summer-ready of a song as the collective has ever composed. Built on the back of Lazerbeak’s tightly produced beats, three of crew’s members—Sims, Cecil Otter, and P.O.S.—each offer a tight verse that, while still inserting obscure references to the likes of Marcel Marceau, is one of the most accessible tracks in Doomtree’s canon.
