Drew Barrymore is writing her memoirs (again)

Shocking everyone who assumed that her 1991 book Little Girl Lost, written when she was fifteen, would be the definitive Drew Barrymore autobiography, People reports that the actress has signed a deal with Dutton to publish a collection of autobiographical essays. Apparently things have continued to actually happen in her life, and Barrymore decided that the year of her 40th birthday was the right time to start writing them down.

In a press release, Dutton says that the book will share stories such as Barrymore “living on her own at 14 (and how laundry may have saved her life), getting stuck in a gas station overhang on a cross-country road trip, saying goodbye to her father in a way only he could have understood, and many more adventures and lessons that have led to the most important thing in her life, which is motherhood.” Hopefully the book will also explain how she could possibly justify calling motherhood the most important thing in her life, when we all know that the first Charlie’s Angels movie is the most important thing Barrymore has done.

There’s no release date yet for the book, but it will likely not include many pictures of hearts or things shaped like hearts, because Barrymore already put out that book last year. That leaves stories about Hollywood, about which the actor could probably dish thoroughly. Perhaps that time she was married to Tom Green and their home burned down would be a good place to start. Or maybe the time she went with Corey Feldman to the Oscars. Really, now that we think about it, Drew Barrymore has a lot of explaining to do.
