Dumb and Dumber turns 20 this year, and with the sequel train still chugging along, it seems as good a time as any to re-imagine the comedy classic as a pressing drama. Vimeo user Josh Rocklage took the already present, stalker-like undertones from the film and highlighted them, like how Jim Carrey’s Lloyd Christmas drove 2,000 miles just to deliver a lost briefcase. A lot of the movie’s comedic elements are rooted in darker themes (e.g. giving a headless parakeet to a blind child), so, like Mrs. Doubtfire or Mary Poppins, it’s not too difficult to spin.
