DVD/BD Release List – 05/04/10
Most of the action this week is on the TV front, though there are a few movies of note, in the “flawed but rent-worthy” file, like Doug Pray’s too-breezy documentary about modern advertising, Art & Copy; or Francis Ford Coppola’s too-insular family drama Tetro; or (a personal favorite) Joe Dante’s nostalgic B-movie/Cuban Missile Crisis mash-up Matinee, now back in print on DVD. Meanwhile, the TV-on-DVD section offers some real oddities, including two Honeymooners reunions from the late ‘70s, a first-season set of Marcus Welby, M.D. (including of Steven Spielberg's first professional directorial gigs), and a two-disc set of cheesy ‘80s cartoons (full review coming tomorrow).
