New music isn't the only media to be released on Tuesdays; it's unveiling day for new DVDs as well…
It's a field day for completists this week, as the full catalog of Abbot & Costello's Universal films comes to DVD, along with a set of Hal Roach's "Our Gang" shorts, and full series boxes for TV both sublime (NewsRadio) and ridiculous (a little show called Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman). Also noteworthy for TV addicts: complete series sets of The 4400, The Flintstones, Good Times and Sanford & Son, a look back at the PBS kids' show Zoom, and a well-assembled 20th anniversary set of Mystery Science Theater 3000. (Look for a review of the latter in this week's A.V. Club DVD section.) And in keeping with the Halloween spirit, the fine cult DVD label Synapse has a quartet of Aussie exploitation flicks, including the splatter classic Patrick and the Bill Condon-penned Strange Behavior.
